The biggest problem is the technical hitches. During the game's two hours, we experienced two hard crashes, and the framerate was almost never stable. Despite such a short run time, this made the experience feel much longer than it should have.
It’s difficult to rate Mosaic purely as a game one plays for entertainment. It certainly has the skeleton of one holding it up, but really it is more of an art installation than a piece of interactive fiction. It never outright challenges you with puzzles or skill-based progression barriers but rather asks you to spend time on some simple minigames designed as nothing but pure time wasters.
The game is relatively short with its five total chapters, and we won't spoil too much of the actual story in our review, however, we will say that Mosaic has a way of making one relate to the hardships of the mundane and it's incredibly heavy going, so bear that in mind if you're thinking about checking out this otherwise thought-provoking interactive experience.
