Although the cliffhanger allows Telltale a huge opportunity with a multitude of story branches to choose from, the ending just doesn’t fit the episode very well at all. While it isn’t my favourite way to finish a well-rounded, and emotionally-filled episode, it leaves the future like a bit of a blank canvas. Despite the few stumbles within Under Pressure, Telltale Games does a good job fixing its mistakes of the first episode and expanding on the guardians relationships, putting together a well-written narrative.

I’m not quite sure Under Pressure is showing the improvement that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series really needs to take off. Much like the first episode it’s still solid, everything done here works in some way and there are even a few moments I really enjoyed, but it’s not really matching Telltale’s other series. If the next episode doesn’t show significant improvement then I’m not sure if it’s going to be worth picking up this series.

Under Pressure was a great follow-up, and I’m now looking forward to future episodes. The narrative has picked up, and the right amount of time is being given to every character. Let’s hope Telltale can keep up the momentum, and regardless of the poor facial animations and dodgy eye movements, turn this into one of the best series’ the dev has put out.
