Still, the introductory episode of Hitman: Intro Pack - Paris makes a pretty strong first impression even when working with limited content.
Hitman's opening act isn't ground-breaking, with a host of tiny problems lending it a dated feel. When you drop a body into a freezer, there's no animation connecting the process together; there's a hard cut from dragging the body to hiding it. Load times are frustratingly long, lasting just under a full minute when reloading saves.
Hitman's gameplay mechanics provide a solid foundation for what could perhaps be the best game in the series. However, the new release format assumes every player is the world's biggest Hitman fan, content to endlessly replay the same level while they wait patiently for the developer to finish the next one.
