Far From Noise is not a game for everyone. If you go in expecting traditional gameplay, you will be highly disappointed, but if you approach it with the understanding of it being almost like a picture book, then you will be in for a magnificently written reflection of yourself as well as musings on some of the heaviest topics about life.
As I’ve already said, Far from Noise won’t appeal to everyone, but it never really seems like it wants to – it has a very particular audience that will likely love the story of a girl, a cliff, and a stag. If you want to marvel at a beautiful horizon and appreciate some damn fine writing, Far from Noise could be your biggest surprise hit of November, or perhaps even the year.
Ultimately, the player’s own thoughts will shape a lot of the enjoyment in Far From Noise. This is most evident from the game’s brilliant ending that’s quite open to interpretation. It perfectly encapsulate’s the title’s “less is more” attitude, and I found myself staring at the beautiful cliffside view for almost 10 minutes after the game had ended.
