In a market that already has far too many zombies games, Dying Light actually manages to succeed, and it's one of the best zombie action titles around. ...It's a shame the missions are a little underwhelming, and the challenge eventually peters out, but if you're looking for a first person zombie survival title where you're not griefed by other players, or forced to fight at gunpoint, this is a good choice, unless someone invades your game as a zombie, of course.

What a good game. It’s really good. It’s just so easy to pick up and get lost in for a few hours at a time. You can credit Techland for that success because it picked a few ideas and really got them right. The zombie-infested world is pretty and dangerous, and your character is fun to control. On top of that, the mechanics and the systems keep the core from getting boring.

Overall, Dying Light was a fun playthrough; although, it may have been a bit too big for its own good. If there’s one thing that annoys me about open-world games, it’s that they often don’t know when to end. I’m not even talking about the side quests, but the main story itself, which seemingly dragged on towards the end. The last quarter-or-so of the game felt like more of a trial, testing everything I learned throughout the game to get to the final boss.
