System Rift does an admirable job of tying Breach mode into the main story while starting to fill in the gaps between Human Revolution and Mankind Divided, but it doesn't feel complete unto itself. You’ll get two to four hours more of excellent Deus Ex gameplay, and a glimpse of what the future may hold, but not much more, which is just a bit of a tease.
Mankind Divided’s first DLC story is divided between a stellar narrative and a disjointed gameplay experience. It’s just not fun to be running away from turrets or being spotted by the dozens of cameras because you simply aren’t given enough tools from the get-go to deal with them, or opportunities to get enough skill points to actually do some damage.
System Rift is a short but sweet experience. Mankind Divided itself wasn’t incredibly lengthy, but when you take into consideration the last piece of post-release DLC we received in the Deus Ex universe, The Missing Link, this is far less appealing. The core content will run roughly two hours in length, with exploring every room and area extending the playtime by another hour. Fortunately, the general setup is well done.
