About this game

Developer: Bungie
Content Rating: Teen

Everything changed with the arrival of the Traveler. It sparked a Golden Age when our civilization spanned the solar system ... but it didn't last. Something hit us, knocked us down. The survivors built a city beneath the Traveler, and have begun to explore our old worlds, only to find them filled with deadly foes. In Destiny, you are a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth, able to wield incredible power. Defend the City. Defeat our enemies. Reclaim all that we have lost.

It really is a question of quality over quantity. Compared against typical MMOs, it doesn’t compare in the number of quests or player classes. ...Rather than try to blow your mind with the size of its world or its innumerable named NPCs, Destiny is a game where you get to drive a speeder bike around, blow up a bunch of aliens, then shoot some people in the face.

Destiny exists in the shadow of multiple games, taking a little from each, and doing nothing truly remarkable with any of it. It's a prime example of how the nebulous concept of "content" can be used to puff up a game without adding anything to it. There's a ton of "stuff" in Destiny. You'll never want for things to do ... but it's terrible at providing motivation to do any of it.

“It’s like Halo and Borderlands got together one night for some great fun and had a beautiful baby.” I personally think she hit the nail on the head, but there are obviously a few things that imply other genres stepping in as well. ...Destiny, simply put, might just be the game of year, but definitely makes you want to join the next generation.
