Summary
Everything changed with the arrival of the Traveler. It sparked a Golden Age when our civilization spanned the solar system ... but it didn't last. Something hit us, knocked us down. The survivors built a city beneath the Traveler, and have begun to explore our old worlds, only to find them filled with deadly foes. In Destiny, you are a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth, able to wield incredible power. Defend the City. Defeat our enemies. Reclaim all that we have lost.

As it is, Destiny is an ambitious project that isn't quite meeting its potential yet. All of the pieces are in place for a great dungeon-crawling playground, and I've enjoyed my time with it, but I'd like to see it come into its own as a more cohesive experience.
Destiny feels like it wasn't ready, but it was shipped anyway. It tantalizes with glimpses of brilliance, but then confounds with clunky design decisions and baffling oversights. Hopefully future updates will fix these, and Destiny will realize its full potential.
Even with the terribly confusing story, the repetitive missions, the bullet sponge enemies, and the uninspired PvP Destiny still feels like a good game. Despite the occasional annoyance or problem I still felt like I was enjoying my time throughout and plan to continue playing for quite a while. Somehow Bungie has crafted a totally flawed, yet completely compelling experience within the same game.
