While there is fun to be had, it’s hard to justify the $50 price point when there are just better ways to spend your time and money. If MMO and Survival games are your bread and butter and really the only games you play, Conan Exiles is definitely a game you could have fun with for a while and with no monthly fee to play the game it has a slight advantage over some, but we’d recommend waiting for a drop in price.
For the price of entry and the type of game Exiles End is worth a look from fans of the genre. It’s got decent atmosphere, controls fairly well, and provides some fun exploration and fighting. It’s just not nearly as good as those that came before it, take it or leave it. I want to like the game more than I do, but getting endlessly lost, questioning my progression, and the weak start left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.
If you’re new to the genre, you’ll probably find the game, by its very nature, a little aimless, and maybe a little intimidating. But for both these kinds of players, once you’re a few hours into the experience and find yourself caught deep in the ever-growing loot of survival, collection, building, and expanding, you’ll realize that getting past those issues is well worth it.
