Playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is like jumping back in time, and it's wonderful. The gunplay, action, and setpieces of Modern Warfare 2 all hold up incredibly well in the modern day, though the controversial content feels more harrowing than ever. For nostalgia, and to see a piece of media from a very different time, Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is definitely worth the price of entry. A shockingly good Call of Duty campaign.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered feels like a series of contradictions. It’s a remake of a popular online shooter without the “popular online” part. Its gameplay is aggressive, defensive, fragile, and bombastic all at the same time, constantly pushing you forward but requiring you to hang back. Its story values twists and turns over characters or any sort of sensibility, making the twists and turns lack any sort of value.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is probably the most divided I’ve felt about a game in a long time. The actual content included is breathtaking and I can tell Beenox took their time crafting every little detail in this game. But this game should have included something beyond just the campaign so that I didn’t feel the want to put it down after six hours. Despite this, I can suggest you pick up the title, especially if you have never played Modern Warfare 2 before.
