Dressed in a beautiful art design and coupled with a Tarantino-esque tale, Paper Cult elevates its murderous mayhem with an intriguing world. Aside from some slippery nuisances in certain level designs, and a somewhat predictable ending to the otherwise fun story, Paper Cult has crafted a bloody fun time.
Outside of yelling at my TV a few times, I had a blast with Bloodroots. Each level delivers edge-of-your-seat excitement, which, while leading to plenty of runs being restarted, concludes with the satisfaction of revenge being delivered through a bloody combo ballet.
Bloodroots really is an amazing little title that frantically bounces you between frustration and accomplishment in the most entertaining way possible. It’s one-shot-kill keeps the action going nonstop, even when you’re the one being taken out, again, and again, and again.
