Ashes Cricket is not without its fair share of issues then. Presentation is probably its weakest point, and it’s also bogged down by a few bugs here and there, while the lack of licenses might also bother some people. But the core gameplay here is solid enough for those who’re fans of the sport, while the extensive customization and creation tools on offer are also an added bonus. This may not be the most stylish or most polished cricket game you’ll ever see, but it certainly is the most enjoyable.
Ashes Cricket has definitely got its issues; bad commentary, some rough presentation, only two licensed teams and a few bugs. But ultimately they can be shaken off, because the feeling of enjoyment I get when I’m playing Ashes Cricket is palpable.
Like an 80-overs old Duke's ball, Ashes Cricket may be a little rough around the seams. Yet it still manages to impress where it counts: out in the middle. There has never been a cricket game this approachable, fully-featured, or fun, and the inclusion of licensed Ashes squads and stadia is just the icing on what is already an exceedingly customisable cricket cake.
