2064: Read Only Memories is a glimpse into a cyberpunk future that has traded today’s modern problems in for more advance technological grade issues. The backdrop that Neo-San Fransisco sets up is one filled with an uneasy tension that really makes 2064 feel like an ultra futuristic high tech society, with real and intimate complexities that come along with human interaction.
I will say the visual style is engaging, and it would have been nice to see the screen space open up a bit and let that aesthetic shine. However, I will say it's worth a playthrough for fans of the genre and cyberpunk enthusiasts if only for the nostalgia and artwork.
2064: Read Only Memories in a lot of ways is something of a balancing act. Whereas particular genre elements and features make a point of setting it in the past, its outlook and perspective on character, location, and story firmly place it as one of the best point and click adventure games of late.
