The PS3 version of Double Agent is still a great game. Ubisoft has managed to craft a well-rounded package that features the series' signature stealth action gameplay, along with a rich and enjoyable multiplayer suite and some impressive visuals. And while Sam likes to grumble a lot in the game about how he's getting too old for all of this, Double Agent proves that there's plenty of life left in the franchise.

Splinter Cell Double Agent isn't the next-gen Splinter Cell experience that Ubisoft might want us to believe it is, but it's still a very impressive single and multiplayer experience. Sadly, this experience is considerably better on the Xbox 360, where the visuals and audio are far more polished. A handful of multiplayer additions and optional motion control lock picking simply isn't enough to counter these problems, making Double Agent on PS3 hard to recommend.

Sam's gloomy mood colors the entire game and adds depth to the storyline. Superb voice acting from Michael Ironside brings a new dimension to Sam Fisher and provides an emotional backdrop for the disturbing events in the game. And believe us, there are many disturbing events in the this game.
