In Harm's Way is a gameplay-light setup episode that mostly positions the characters for the conclusion of this season, but it also descends to new depths while exploring just how far Clementine and her allies are willing to go to stay alive. It's all sad and lonely and suicidally hopeless. But good luck trying to turn away.

Episode three is a slow thought provoking instalment that goes into some really fascinating areas. It’s intelligently written and plotted out, though is occasionally hampered by a poor supporting cast. Clementine shines greater than ever, and a certain series staple gets an excellent outing, but those around them(bar the fantastic Carver) aren’t always as strong. They aren’t as memorable as season one’s cast, but it doesn’t rely on them as much.

In spite of the usual technical troubles, the quality of the writing in The Walking Dead: Season 2, Episode 3 – In Harm’s Way is too good to ignore. Indeed, incredible storytelling and character development leads to one of the best chapters in Telltale Games’ library, and after a slightly slow start, this season is now moving at full force.
