About this game

Content Rating: Teen

An average high schooler, Shin Kamikaze, becomes God when an angel rescues him from devils. As God, he can tap into the powers of angels and demons, which he must use to help the angels in their endless war against the devils. He is torn between his exclusively assigned angel, Jupiel, and the devil scientist who saved his life and gave him the powers of God, Ariael. As he learns to wield his powers, he is faced with impossible situations where he must constantly choose between two heart wrenching options. What will Shin decide? And who will he side with in the end?

Anyone looking for a fresh experience, albeit a very difficult one, will enjoy the mechanics presented here. The RNG, as well as the steep difficulty, raise the barrier for entry however, and will no doubt turn a lot of players away, with good reason

The ardent NIS fans will probably play this regardless of its pitfalls, and we can’t even fault them for that because The Awakened Fate Ultimatum is not an inherently broken game, and it has plenty of enjoyable elements. It is, however, an experience that leaves a bit desired. Newcomers looking to get into the roguelike genre for the first time though, will probably find this to be the ideal experience.

The Awakened Fate Ultimatum is an interesting game. While, yes, it’s steeped in typical Nippon Ichi stereotypes and an over-reliance on its anime presentation, the choice system provides an interesting departure from their typical norm. The gameplay — while not perfect, is appropriately difficult and makes you think about your actions even if I wasn’t exactly a fan of having to redo dungeons due to simple mistakes.
