This parade of ever-changing scenarios complements the standard, but still great Ratchet and Clank combat that’s bolstered by several creative additions. The Netherbeast lets you call forth a giant ethereal creature that chomps away with massive teeth, and the Winterizer plays Christmas music as you transform victims into adorable snowmen. As with other games in the series, the arsenal is playful, surprising, and effective.

If you’re a fan of Ratchet & Clank, you don’t want to miss out on Nexus. If you’ve been craving a more traditional entry to the series since A Crack In Time, then this will suit you perfectly. It’s not the longest or best game in the series, but it’s a budget title and full of fan service, though that may turn non-fans away and it’s hardly the best entry point into this universe. It’s simply a wonderful adventure for the duo, featuring almost everything you could want from Ratchet & Clank and bringing some brilliant new mechanics which advance the series in the correct way.

Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus doesn't make great strides to change up the series, but fans won't be disappointed. Nexus is short, sweet, and to the point, with hardly a dull moment in sight, making it a fitting conclusion to the Future series. When you add in the fact that the game is budget priced and you get Quest for Booty for free, it only sweetens the deal.

Nexus may not be long, but it’s steeped in Ratchet & Clank special sauce. The characters are offbeat and funny, the story is well-paced, the art direction is distinctive and above all else it’s a blast to play, with always evolving gameplay and an ever-escalating arsenal. A great swansong for the series on PS3.

Into the Nexus is a great example of how to make a short game and not leave the player feeling shortchanged. However, where it steps forward it does so only in the slightest of ways – mainly it is just picking up from where the series was before it spun off into different territory. It's a solid return to Ratchet and Clank's world, but hopefully PlayStation 4 will take the series to more creative, exciting heights.

Some environmental exploration is tiring (like taking time to spin bolts to open doors), but the weapons and gadgets are excellent and offer plenty of variety. Into the Nexus’ gameplay holds true to what we’ve known and enjoyed for over a decade. Should we be demanding bigger and better things? Maybe, but there’s something about this formula that just works. I walked away from it hungry for more.

The PlayStation 3 has been a rocky road for Ratchet and Clank, but Into the Nexus is a fitting end. It returns to its strong roots without depending on nostalgia alone to drive it, embracing the adventurous spirit that birthed the series over a decade ago. Into the Nexus is a wonderfully strong note for Ratchet and Clank to go out on for this generation, and hopefully a good indication of the more exciting adventures awaiting them in the next.

It's short, but it's cheap, and it delivers exactly what one expects from a Ratchet & Clank game. Fans will have absolutely no problem leaping into the fray and gunning down space criminals, while newcomers may find the low cost of entry tantalizing enough to jump in. Whoever you are, there's very little chance of you feeling like you wasted your cash here.

Not to be left in the Netherverse, Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus represents a return to form for Insomniac Games’ most enduring double-act. While it’ll do little to catch the attention of series cynics, franchise fans should find themselves drawn to this like a particularly potent gravity beam. The budget price may still be a teensy steep for the rather slender running time, but the focused campaign and enjoyable action mean that this is certainly worth a punt if you’ve got the bolts to spare.

Nexus only lasts about five hours. Yeah, it’s pretty short, but those are some good five hours that’ll remind you of why you fell in love with Ratchet and Clank in the first place. Its $30 / £20 price tag makes it a great incentive to pick it up, and it delivers what you’d expect from the series. Nexus may not be the most conclusive of the Ratchet and Clank titles, but it is a (mostly) charming sendoff to years of PS3 gaming.

Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus doesn't entirely break from the series' classic roots, but its focus on action over platforming makes it a fast-paced thrill ride, and the short length makes running through it again with Omega weapons in Challenge Mode irresistible. In what may be the last Ratchet & Clank for this console generation, the series takes its leave with a proper bang, reuniting you with your favorite characters and keeping you hooting and hollering all the way to the finish line.

Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus is a short epilogue that may leave dedicated fans of the franchise a bit disappointed. Those that look past its length, however, will find an adventure worth having. The writing, humor and beloved characters are all there along with addicting classic Ratchet & Clank gameplay. Even with its flaws, you can’t really go wrong with this finale considering its low price tag.

Into the Nexus is the last PS3 game in the Ratchet & Clank Future titles and does appear to be made with fans of the series in mind. But do not let this detract a playthrough of the game. While Into the Nexus is short, there is a lot of replay value, some decent challenge on the harder difficulties, and a lot of stuff to unlock. The game is also packaged with Quest for Booty for players who might have missed out on that title. Overall, Into the Nexus is a solid and enjoyable romp for both fans and newcomers alike.

Into the Nexus almost feels like a farewell. The final sections are steeped in series history, with museum displays of previous events, and certain characters die in shocking fashion. I'm sure there will be more Ratchet & Clank to come, but if not, I don't feel bad about getting in on the top floor. There's a long way down, with a lot of games to play (or replay).

Despite being such a short game, Ratchet & Clank: Nexus is still offers a lot of fun and action as Ratchet gets in touch with some of the issues that have been on his mind for a while now. You could ask what room does this leave for future character development, but personally I consider this as more of an opportunity than a problem. I will be interested to see how the adventures of these all-stars continue on the PS4.

I don't know what happened to the passion that Insomniac used to have, but if Fuse and the last three entries in the Ratchet & Clank series are any indication of what the company has in store for us, I think it's time to say our final goodbyes to a once fantastic developer. Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus has fun elements, but at 30 dollars for such a short and glitchy package, I have no choice but to strongly suggest you skip this entry, at least for now.

Features the usual batch of crazy weapons and gadgets, both new and old. Great animation and sound. Loads of callbacks for the fans. No tower defence! A fitting end to the PS3’s R&C saga. With the next R&C title no doubt earmarked for the PS4, it may be time for the property to undergo a more radical evolution before it resurfaces, but Into the Nexus is a fitting final chapter for the PS3 era.

Ratchet and clank: Nexus é uma espécie de mini Tools of Destruction ou A Crack in Time.
