NBA 2K11 has definitely set the bar high for future iterations, both of basketball games and sports games in general. If this trend continues, in a few years time, we may actually have to go outside to a basketball court to get more realistic. NBA 2K11 is the best basketball game ever made, and if you are a fan of the sport, and especially if you were raised in the Air Jordan Era, you won’t find a better b-ball game anywhere.

The presentation is loud, full of energy, extremely realistic, and hardly ever falters. Michael Jordan’s inclusion as well as his iconic Air Jordans as rewards is a very nice touch. PlayStation Move functionality is a decent change of the control scheme, though it is not exactly advantageous to play with that setup. Overall, you will definitely find yourself immersed in the game, and friends and family members will likely enjoy simply watching the game, especially when there are no actual NBA games on regular television.

The level of detail, incredible graphical refinement, wealth of gameplay options and the inclusion of Michael Jordan himself mark it out as an exceptional basketball game. That said, the PlayStation Move controls aren’t great, and if you’re considering buying this one just for Move you might be disappointed by the controller’s implementation. Move support aside, this is one fantastic game and an all-but essential purchase for fans of the sport.
