The Behemoth’s incredibly fun cooperative beat–em-up would’ve been pure brawler perfection if the multiplayer had launched in better form. It’s incredibly frustrating that it’s easier to play Castle Crashers with strangers than with your friends, but it’s still a great brawler that will soak up your time. Between unlocking new characters so you can level them up to finding all of the hidden weapons and animal orbs, there’s a lot to do in the campaign mode.

The Behemoth have certainly made the game worth your precious time and hard-earned money. Added to the package is all of the DLC from the XBLA market place, team arena, the volleyball mode, and the lush 2D graphics, make it worth the $15 asking price. If you have the time and the dime, Castle Crashers is a worthy PSN title to add to your mantle!

The hand-drawn animation is absolutely gorgeous, and the settings are exquisite for a game of this nature. There’s also plenty of humorous moments throughout, from a huge cat beast that can’t resist coughing up hairballs to forest animals with a penchant for pooing. It’s easy to lose track of what’s happening in a four-player battle, but that just comes with the territory.
