Summary
A first-of-its-kind Bond gaming experience, 007 Legends features an original, overarching storyline that explores the undercover operative’s journey from a newly-minted secret agent to the most beloved, or hated, spy legend there ever was. Players will experience the conscience and gritty evolution of James Bond like never before by tying together five classic Bond movie-inspired missions: Moonraker, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Die Another Day, Licence to Kill, and Goldfinger. A sixth mission based on this year’s highly-anticipated movie, SKYFALL, will also be available post launch as downloadable content.

Missed opportunities cower in every corner, ranging from an irreverence toward the subject matter in the disjointed story to the absence of familiar voices, and the gameplay feels like it started life as an amateur Bond-themed Call of Duty mod. The options offered by the multiplayer and challenge modes might entice some of the most devoted Bond fans, but for the majority of players, this seemingly rushed world won't be enough.
Everything about this experience points towards a rushed development that focused on releasing the game close to the film’s opening. Rocksteady has shown us that a great IP can make for a great game if given the appropriate development team. The world of James Bond seems custom-built for an awesome gaming experience, but Activision seems intent on making every possible wrong turn with 007 Legends.
007 Legends' greatest failing is that it cherry picks moments from Bond's illustrious history but fails to show why the character has engaged and fascinated for so long, all the while lacking self-generated value as its own game. Die-hard Bond fans will leave underwhelmed — if not peeved — by its treatment of these films, and the lowest-common-denominator approach to gameplay is downright bland. Thunderbore.
