The cosmic horror RPG World of Horror has launched out of Early Access today on PC via Steam, GOG, Itch.io, and Microsoft Store. It's also released for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 only in Japan. The North American and European release for the consoles is scheduled on October 26.
Developed by Pantasz and published by Ysbryd Games, World of Horror is inspired by the works of Junji Ito and H.P. Lovecraft. The game's retro-style visual is set in the seaside town of Shiokawa. Players must solve mysteries and face horrors as madness infects the sleepy town's residents.
World of Horror has 20 cases that need solving that feature procedurally-generated encounters. Players can choose among 14 unlockable characters, each with different stats and abilities.
Pawel Kozminski, founder of Panstasz, says the 1.0 launch marks a major milestone following years of development. The PC version also comes with modding tools so the community can develop and publish their own 'mysteries'.
World of Horror is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 for $19.99.
