Besides being a legendary skater himself Tony Hawk had bred a whole generation of skaters with his Pro Skater series which started way back in the 90s. Hawk has teamed up with Vicarious Visions to bring fans a remastered version of the first two Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games.
Check out the announce trailer:
With the last Pro Skater game coming out back in 2015, a lot of people are excited to come back with this remake of the classics. It’s worth noting that Vicarious Visions also helped bring back the remastered versions of Crash Bandicoot, so you can imagine they know a thing or two about remastering classic games.
Besides the return of old parks and old levels from the original THPS games, the trailer also boasts the return of the iconic soundtrack; if anything, music makes half of the entire skating experience, and Pro Skater knows how to pick them.
Though this will be a remaster of the old games, hopefully there will be some new features as well. Of course we should expect a multiplayer online mode seeing as this is a modern game, but I’d also want to see some new maps and listen to some new songs, just so everything won’t just be a nostalgia trip.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on Sept. 4 and will cost $39.99 USD. A digital deluxe edition with special gear and content will run for $49.99.
