The highly anticipated free-to-play shooter THE FINALS from Embark Studios is kicking off an open beta test from October 26 to November 5. This will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S upon request.
The goal of the Open Beta is to validate improvements and changes made from earlier testing on PC, stress-test the game’s server and backend infrastructure at scale, ensure the team is capable to quickly patch and update the game across platforms, and get feedback on the console and gamepad experience.
Some of the highlights players can expect include:
Iconic Arenas
The open beta will feature three icon arenas. The brand-new Skyway Stadium adds flavor to the frantic gameplay with its constantly shifting and changing arena. Monaco brings close-quarter combat through the streets of the glamorous city. And Seoul provides vertical gameplay up and down skyscrapers.
New and Updated Game Modes
Several new and classic modes will be playable in the beta. The new Bank-It mode pits teams against each other. The team that reaches the max limit first or has the most coins at the end of the round wins. Unranked and Ranked Tournaments offer competitive Cashout mode. And Quick Cash is a more casual variant of Cashout.
Progression Systems
Players will be able to progress through a free Open Beta Battlepass with 16 exclusive unlockable rewards that carry over to the full game. They can also rank up through five Mastery Levels per weapon as they play.
The beta will also include a League Progression system with Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond tiers. Reaching the Diamond tier will unlock an exclusive Legendary Weapon Skin reward.
More content
In total, the test will include 20 weapons, 26 gadgets, and 9 abilities to choose from. It will also offer optimizations and improvements to performance, movement, teamwork, and more.
THE FINALS is a team-based first-person shooter where opposing sides equip different weapons and skills to dominate the “world’s biggest stage.”
