Bandai Namco is setting up for the fourth season of the Tekken 7 esports competition, and we have a breakdown of the latest update with this new launch trailer. Besides balance fixes and new stages, we also have the reveal of an all-new iteration of a character, Kunimitsu.

Watch this:

Kunimitsu was an unlockable character way back in the first Tekken who had retired canonically with Tekken 2. The Kunimitsu that is returning for Tekken 7 is the original’s daughter, but she looks like an update of the original design of the character.

Besides Kunimitsu, we have a new stage called the Vermilion Gates, plus a Pacman-themed arena that will only be available for a limited time. Several characters have been overhauled, fixing some balance issues and encouraging players to learn new moves and combos. Besides that, there have been several updates to the UI, and a new ranking system with the top title of “TEKKEN GOD OMEGA.”

There’s also a new indicator for “Tekken Prowess” which is a way for players to identify their skills through points scoring. The Tekken Prowess calculates the player’s own highest rank, plus the total rank of all their characters, play stats, and the number of matches they’ve played.
