Insomniac had been praised for their work on the PS4 exclusive Spider-Man, but it looks like the studio could be ready to come back to one of the more recognized brands in modern games—Ratchet & Clank. After earning top ranks on the PS4's list of platformers, it seems a new game is on the way, and it’s possible it could be launching with the PS5.
Talking to Sacred Symbols (via ComicBook), former industry journalist Colin Moriarty had noted,
It’s worth noting that Moriarty had actually teased the development of the game sometime last year, with the hint that it could be coming out for the PS4. For now, it looks like plans have changed, but it’s possible that this new Ratchet & Clank could release for both the PS4 and PS5. For now, all we can really do is wait and see.
Ratchet & Clank is probably one of the more beloved brands in modern gaming, and its neat world is brought to life by the game’s emphasis on alternate weapons.
Personally, I’m more of a Jak & Daxter fan, but I’m excited to see just how Insomniac plans to up the ante with this next game. It’s kind of curious how they’re going to go back to a more cartoony brand after their attempt at realism with Spider-Man.
We don’t have any official confirmation for the next Ratchet & Clank title, but the PS5 is set to come out this December.
