<p>After the success of games like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/immortality/">Immportality</a>, more full-motion video (FMV) games are being released. And this latest one lets players dive into the inner workings of a group of troubled New Yorkers in the late 1980s.</p>

<p>Developers from Burgeon and Flourish will roll out its newest project, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ios/of-two-minds/">Of Two Minds</a>. The free association game will land on iOS devices this <strong>February 5</strong>. It will carry a price tag of <strong>US$2.99</strong>.</p> 

<p>The FMV game features footage shot in 1989 by award-winning film director Michael Bergmann.</p>

<p>Set in 1980s New York, it puts players in the shoes of a psychoanalyst who will get to listen and analyze the thoughts and memories of various characters. From a couple having an affair to spouses and their own analysts.</p>

<p><strong>Of Two Minds</strong>’ gameplay also follows a non-linear narrative. This means players can unlock new content and storylines by connecting themes and ideas that emerge in each video. In addition, they can discover more secrets, obsessions, histories of each character, and their psychological motivations.</p>

<p>The game is the result of a 35-year-long project, Burgeon and Flourish wrote in a statement. It began when Bergmann filmed more than three hours of a fictional story about the intense relationship between two psychoanalysts. He later teamed up with game designer and composer Lucas Tahiruzzaman Syed to develop it into a nonlinear narrative game.</p>

<p>Bergmann’s goal was to preserve and popularize some of the most exciting ideas of psychoanalysis, according to developers. The director believed he could transform a human life but is in danger of being forgotten, they added.
 Burgeon and Flourish first unveiled Of Two Minds in 2023.</p> 

<p>Meanwhile, the publishers have also released a trailer of the game on YouTube, which interested players can check out below.</p>
