Wield the Technosword in New Retro-Futuristic Trailer for Narita Boy

Team17, the developers behind Overcooked, has just released their launch trailer for Narita Boy, a sidescrolling platformer that’s inspired by a retro-futuristic 80s. Wield the Technosword and save the Digital Kingdom from Him.

Check out the launch trailer:

Here’s the official description:

You are Narita Boy, a legendary hero called upon to defend the Digital Kingdom. Explore a stunning retro-futuristic dimension, discover the mysteries behind the Techno-sword and ward off the corrupt Stallion invaders!

What’s also interesting is that the game is connected to a real-world campaign called #SaveTheArcadeWorld, which is aiming to support museums that seek to preserve the history of video games. The soundtrack for Narita Boy will be up for sale, and royalties will all go out to support the movement all the way up to March 30. Here’s the announcement:

Looking at the game itself, Narita Boy looks like a good bit of retro-inspired fun. Not only does the game have a unique aesthetic to it, but the soundtrack also makes good use of synthesizers to bring that 80’s feel. With Disney set to push forward with their third TRON movie, Narita Boy is probably the closest we have to a tie-in game.

Narita Boy launches on March 30 for the Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
