Final Fantasy XIV was Square Enix’s way to bring the FF brand to the MMORPG genre, and though the next expansion has been delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we now have the official reveal of the next title.

As per community manager Matt ‘Bayohne’ Hilton (via The PlayStation Blog), Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker will bring fans to the climax of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark story arc. While this is expected to be a treat for fans who have been playing the game for a while, the developers also think this would be a great jumping point for players who are new to the game.

Endwalker also brings in a lot of new player options like jobs, an increased level cap, new areas, and other adjustments to make the gameplay feel more streamlined. The expansion also promises ‘relaxing fun’ with Island Sanctuary described as ‘a new way to slow down and relax in-game.’ Here players will be able to enjoy farm-sim activities like raising animals and planting crops while taking in the gorgeous scenery.
