We know that the wild west is a genre that goes hand in hand with video games, but one-man-army studio Smash the Code is aiming to bring us to the ‘weird west’ with this new game called Western Sigil.

Western Sigil is a tower defense & resource management game with a dose of strategy, where you control units of unlikely allies. Shoot your way through the hordes of orcs, goblins, and other evil creatures to find the ancient sigils and save the strange world of Weird West from the spreading plague!
As you can see, it’s a nice mashing of genres that takes the cowboys and bandits of the wild west and has them clash with fantasy monsters like orcs, spiders, and goblins. What’s more, the game promises to add a fresh twist to the Tower Defense mechanic, and will force players to strategize and utilize appropriate units to take out specific enemies.
I also think that the game has some pretty interesting aesthetics. Though the look is simple, I think the minimalist approach really gives this game a signature feel, and it’s a cute look for a game set in the ‘weird west’. Impressive coming from a one-man-team of Michal Soczynski. Hopefully we get a look at more of the game soon.
