Developer and Publisher 11 Bit Studios is launching Creatures of Ava on August 7. The upcoming exploration game is their latest work with developers Inverge Studios and Chibig.
Creatures of Ava is an environmental story about the planet of Ava. Under the threat of an infection called The Withering, Ava and its wildlife inhabitants are on the brink of collapse.
Players take on the role of Vic, an explorer who crashes onto the planet alongside her companion Tabitha. It's up to Vic the players to wander around Ava and save the planet's beautiful creatures.
Unlike most games, Creatures of Ava is a non-violent adventure. Instead, players will use a magical flute that will help them tame and befriend the wildlife.
Aside from the game's gorgeous visuals, Creatures of Ava also features a heartfelt story. It explores themes of empathy, environmental protection, and the wisdom of letting go.
Creatures of Ava is co-written by the award-winning videogame writer Rhianna Pratchett. She is renowned for her work on Mirror's Edge and Crystal Dynamics' Tomb Raider. In 2016, D.I.C.E awarded her with the Outstanding Achievement in Videogame Writing for her work on Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Creatures of Ava is the latest game from the publisher and developer, 11bit Studios. The studio has worked on Frostpunk which remains one of PS4's all-time best games. Its sequel, Frostpunk 2, is set to release on PC on September 20 following a delay.
Creatures of Ava is set to release on PC via Steam and Xbox Series X|S.
