InFold Games, known for its hit titles Love and Deepspace and the upcoming Infinity Nikki, has announced Ballad of Antara. Developed by TipsWorks Studio, this fantasy action RPG is set to launch in 2025 on PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile platforms.

The game made its debut at the PlayStation State of Play event with a trailer.

Ballad of Antara immerses players in a fantasy world ravaged by the invasion of an ancient force. It takes a page from FromSoftware’s ‘dying worlds’ trope. The ‘essences’ of the land are corrupted and lost. Players embark on a journey with Dromos, a mysterious girl on a quest to restore the fractured world.

Players will encounter Emissaries, powerful entities harnessing the forces of essences. Each Emissary boasts unique classes, gameplay capabilities, and intriguing backstories.

The game's combat allows players to switch between a squad of three Emissaries. This enhances the strategic depth and engagement of its gameplay.

Fans of Genshin Impact are familiar with switching combat styles on the fly. This is akin to Ballad Of Antara’s Emissary switching.

Aside from its single-player experience, Ballad of Antara will also offer multiplayer support. It will allow up to three players to venture together and team up with others online. This includes story quests, exploration, and dungeons that can be played together.

The journey in Ballad of Antara takes players through breathtaking landscapes and levels rich with secrets. Players can explore the mysterious Para dimension, a place where danger lurks around every corner. They will strive to recover the world's lost essences hidden in the depths of shadows.

The game is free-to-play. There are no details on the extent of its F2P model and its microtransactions. According to its PlayStation Blog post, the devs are “...hard at work to release the game in 2025.” They also added that the game will support post launch updates with new Emissaries, new zones, continuation of the story, and more.
