<a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/bleak-faith-forsaken/">Bleak Faith: Forsaken</a> is getting another major update a year after its debut. And this time, it's intended for console players.

Archangel Studios revealed that a console port of the souls-like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/rpg/">RPG</a> is underway. The indie devteam made this announcement in a 55-second trailer they dropped on May 15th, 2024. The port expansion will include PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Release dates for the console versions of Bleak Faith: Forsaken have yet to be revealed.

Bleak Faith: Forsaken first debuted on PC in March 2023. Aside from RPG elements, the game also features open-world and survival horror designs. Prior to its release, the three-man team of Archangel promised to introduce a game that combines 'brutal combat, exploration, and oppressive atmosphere.'

On whatoplay, the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/2023/">2023 PC title</a> currently has a playscore of 7.2.

In the game, players find themselves in the ruins of a fallen civilization called the Omnistructure. They must guide their cyborg hero to survive in a world full of monstrous beings twisted by a mysterious force.

Upon its release, many gamers and critics agreed that Bleak Faith: Forsaken has the potential to become a big, indie contender in the souls-like genre. However, they pointed out that the game still needed further development.

Bleak Faith: Forsaken received praise for its visuals, designs, and atmospheric experience. However, it fell short in terms of the quality of its gameplay. Some critics even criticized it as nothing but a 'window dressing' with broken souls-like mechanics.

Since then, its developers have rolled out numerous updates. These ranged from fixing bugs to improving the game's overall features. They also launched new contents and even a new mode - a co-op multiplayer.

Presumably, the console versions will launch with all the balance changes, bug fixes, and additional content released on PC. This means console players may have access to a richer, more refined experience from day one.

Ubisoft has just revealed the next installment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/assassins-creed-shadows/">Assassin’s Creed Shadows</a> is set during Japan’s turbulent Sengoku period. The story revolves around two characters: Naoe, a skilled shinobi, and Yasuke, the celebrated African samurai.

<a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/hotel-hustle/">Hotel Hustle</a>’s gameplay loop mainly involves preparing rooms, serving guests and fulfilling their whims. The main goal is to always make them feel at home. The checklists of things to do share familiar mechanics from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/moving-out/">Moving Out</a>. 

Preparation is necessary in this managerial simulator. Before the guests arrive, players must ensure that rooms are cleaned. Activities such as vacuuming floors, arranged bedding, and more are challenges to overcome. Things must be in place otherwise guests will not hesitate to show displeasure. 

Additional challenges are also present once the rooms are ready. As the sole proprietor of this establishment, cooking meals is essential. Players must prepare special dishes to ensure a generous tip. 

<h3>Team-Up with a Buddy</h3>

The co-op feature is a much needed addition to Hotel Hustle. This two-player cooperative mode lets players work together with a friend. Things will either go smoothly or the other way around. The extra pair of hands will definitely shake things up. 

Players attain rewards by receiving stars. After a job well done, these stars will grant additional levels. There are a total of 25 levels that vary in difficulty. Each level has its own unique set-up and lobby design. 

Hotel Hustle is available now on the Nintendo Switch for $10. A special sale on the Nintendo eShop slashes the game’s price by 40%.

Management Sim 'Hotel Hustle' Available Now on Nintendo Switch 

A <a href="https://whatoplay.com/new/indie/">new indie game</a> just came out. And it's one for fans of the dungeon-crawler and roguelite genres.

Publisher Dear Villagers announced the debut of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/the-land-beneath-us/">The Land Beneath Us</a>. The indie game, which combines dungeon-crawling adventure with turn-based combat, launched on May 13.

It can be played on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

The Land Beneath Us is developed by FairPlay Studios, an indie studio based in Thailand. Its creators promised to deliver an 'endlessly replayable experience.' The game contains not only dungeon crawling and turn-based combat elements. But also rogue-lite features.

In it, players find themselves in Annwn, a mythological underworld by Welsh folklore.

They take the shoes of a powerful robot, called the Ultimate Soul Harvester (U.S.H), tasked to the Seven Lords in Annwn. In doing so, they need to venture deep into the magical realm. Along the way, players will also have the chance to save The Creator. 

They need to also get their hands on soul tech, a technology that would help them uncover the mysteries in Annwn.

Wielding stylish weaponry and unleashing devastating skill combos, players must also overcome challenging encounters. This included fighting enemies via turn-based strategies.

"Enjoy challenging dynamic encounters and discover the mysteries of this mythological world," creators said.

In the meantime, FairPlay Studios confirmed that demo versions of The Land Beneath Us remain online even after the game's launching.

"Yes!!! We decided to put the demo live even after the release. If you're hesitating, try out the demo and you'll tell me that you wanna be one of the underworld dwellers forever!" they wrote on the game's Steam page.

The Land Beneath Us is priced at €14.99. But in celebration of its launch, its creators will be giving a limited-time discount of up to 20 percent. / ###

It’s a deeply personal story set in a world brimming with evil. If you’re not hunting ghouls, you’re being torn between complex quests that test your morality. I personally enjoyed the quest where you help a Baron find his missing wife and daughter. Only to find, SPOILER ALERT, that he’s an abusive drunk that pushed them away. 

Geralt Of Rivia is the protagonist, but you make the choices for him. The way the story unfolds will depend on your choices. Good or bad. 

<h2><a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/final-fantasy-vii-remake/">Final Fantasy VII: Remake</a> / <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/final-fantasy-vii-rebirth/">Rebirth</a></h2>

There’s a reason why gamers and critics alike consider Final Fantasy VII as the best of the franchise. And no it’s not because of the Tifa, Aerith and Cloud love triangle. 

Final Fantasy VII is a timeless story about the environment and mental health. Cloud and his buddies set off to stop an evil company from draining their planet’s energy, all while dealing with their own mental struggles.

You can still play the OG, But Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth enhances the narrative by fleshing out the stories of each character. 

Apart from its important message of saving the planet, it's still a classic JRPG. And JRPGs do best with characters you can connect with. With the fleshed-out storyline, we find out that they aren't just eye candy, they have their own struggles too.

As you progress through the game, you can actually see them grow closer. Like real friends, they open up, work together, and solve each other's problems. 

Remake and Rebirth essentially gives us more of Final Fantasy VII to fall in love with. From its characters, to its storylines. You can almost forget Sephiroth altogether and focus on these merry band of heroes staving off the end of the world...at each other's side. 

<h2><a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/baldurs-gate-iii/">Baldur’s Gate 3</a></h2>

It would be a disservice to exclude Baldur’s Gate 3 from this list. Larian Studios’ award-winning RPG is a storybook of multiple possibilities. 

Baldur’s Gate 3 didn’t win awards just because it has Karlach or Astarion. It won awards because it’s a well-written adventure with RPG mechanics like no other. 

There are no straight paths to take. You can choose to make your own character or select from its main cast. 

The game provides you with decision upon decision, leaving all the choices to player agency.

You might see other players raze an entire Goblin Camp just because they feel like it. Or use diplomacy to worm their way out of it. There’s a plethora of decisions to fulfill a quest. And all that barely scratches the surface of its three massive acts. 

This entirely ambitious structure is a result of Larian’s passion. Pair it with its developers’ love for the community, and you get a fantastic game that lets you do anything you want. 

Larian brought the pen and paper format into this compelling interactive experience, giving life to a world you hardly want to go without. All you have to do is roll your d6s and d12s to shape it however you want. 

<h2><a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/persona-5-royal/">Persona 5 Royal</a> / <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/persona-3-reload/">Persona 3 Reload</a></h2>

ATLUS’ Persona games have stood the test of time. Turn-based JRPGs and visual novels s aren't exactly everyone's cup of tea. But even with its old school mechanics, Persona reaches out to a wide variety of players. 

Since Persona 3, the Persona series eased up the barrier of entry for traditional JRPGs. ATLUS transformed an intimidating hallway simulator into a vibrant anime story. 

Its heavy themes about death and justice are exaggerations of real-world problems. Yet ATLUS never downplays how they affect its characters. 

Persona 3, 4, and 5 capture the naivete of teenagers. Granted special powers to help the world, they offer up their lives to service. 

Their Personas are mere tools to the story.

There’s something magical about how their characters bond through shared trauma. Their powerful masks wear off and they go back to being teenage friends, with such distinct personalities they feel almost real.

Sometimes, they might not be enough to save the world. But you know what they say, it’s the friends we make along the way.

<h2><a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/the-last-of-us-part-i/">The Last Of Us Part I</a> / <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/the-last-of-us-part-ii-remastered/">Last of Us Part II</a></h2>

Back when we turned to video games for an escape from reality, Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us flipped the script with a story so real and poignant that we still feel its ripples to this day. 

The Last Of Us feels like a movie, but it's the gameplay that connects us to the characters. Guiding Ellie and Joel through their journey, facing off with zombies and clickers, and seeing them interact throughout. It's in these gameplay sections that you see how they grow closer and closer. 

In a world overrun by zombies, The Last Of Us maintains the essence of humanity as its central goal. It is not about killing the final boss and being done with it. Instead it asks, what happens to people when they’ve done everything to survive? And when morality is at its weakest, whose side will you choose?

It's these lessons on empathy that's balanced expertly throughout both parts. 

No matter the outrage online, with questions that stay with us long after the credits roll, there's no wonder why we still talk The Last Of Us to this day. 

<h2><a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/marvels-spider-man-remastered/">Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered</a></h2>

Everyone knows Spiderman as the friendly neighborhood superhero. But what is a superhero game, with its one-note good vs bad stories, doing in this list?

In this web-slinging adventure, Insomniac masterfully breaks down what it means to be a hero. Spider-Man isn’t just about saving the world yadda-yadda. It’s about himself dealing with the responsibilities of being a hero. Just like what Uncle Ben said in that first Raimi movie. 

You can’t save everyone and that’s why Insomniac’s first Spider Man game is my personal favorite of the trilogy. There’s a struggle inside Peter Parker's mind that not even Spider-Man could help. Only by the end of the game does our hero realize that he’s not two people in a suit, he’s just one man. 

The second and third game didn’t quite capture the magic of the first game, but that’s just me. Let me know below if you agree.

Horizon’s vast open-world games can get overwhelming, I’ll admit. But the story! 
 The story is what keeps you hooked. It doesn’t matter if I’m walking from Utah to California, you’re always driven to find answers. I needed answers! We needed answers. 

What happened to the old world? Why am I fighting robots? Why is Aloy a redhead? Only by the end do you get these questions answered, providing a satisfying conclusion to an intriguing narrative that keeps you invested every step of the way.
s some pretty big names, it might've even flown under your radar. 

<h2><a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/death-stranding/">Death Stranding</a></h2>

Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding is a cerebral experience. But underneath its oddness lies a touching story.

As Norman Reedus, or Sam, and his funky little fetus, you travel across America to basically reconnect everyone’s Wi-Fi. Essentially, you're a high-tech delivery guy, trekking across land and bunkers like a futuristic FedEx. 

Things only get weirder from there as you encounter Lovecraftian nightmares, and Mads Mikkelsen smoking a cigarette.

The horrors are just bumps in the road for Sam and his baby companion, Lou. Each delivery brings the two closer and closer, culminating in a payoff you wouldn’t want to miss. 

Kojima takes the mundane traversal mechanics we take for granted and elevates it into a story about reconnecting humanity.

Death Stranding can be a tough sell. But if you can't get past the "walking simulator" label, you might miss out on its unique charm.


<h2><a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/ghost-of-tsushima/">Ghost Of Tsushima</a></h2>

Among the thousands of Samurai games, Ghost of Tsushima is something else. 

Just like Peter Parker's dilemma, except without the webshooting, Jin Sakai battles with himself. Throughout the game, we witness his inner turmoil about what it means to be a Samurai.

There's this constant push and pull between right and wrong. Ghost Of Tsushima portrays this glaring weakness in a Samurai’s honor code. As Mass Effect’s Javik would say, “[Video Here]” And our protagonist simply can’t ignore the atrocities of the invading Mongol horde. 

That’s why Ghost Of Tsushima is a great game. Apart from its satisfying gameplay and gorgeous open world, it’s a story about a man struggling to find what honor means for him.

Kratos’ character development over the years took an impressive turn. Anyone familiar with the old games knew Kratos as a maniacal warrior trapped in the cycle of vengeance. We’ve seen him tear Helios’ head and use it as a flashlight. Jesus. 

In this new Reboot series, we see a different side to Kratos. Moving on from his Greek Origins, Kratos seemingly paves his own path to “rehabilitation” in the Norse Realms. 

He’s no longer the warmongering fool we knew him as. Here, he plays a father to Atreus, his son, whose radiating goodness seems to rub off on the troubled Demigod. But fatherhood has its own battles. 

We see the clash of their contrasting personalities, and we see bursts of Kratos anger. But even in a world that’s out to get them, bot even Norse’s deadly pantheon stood chance.

Ragnarok sees the end to the war. Not just of the pantheon of gods, but also the one that’s been brewing inside Kratos’ head..and it will forever remain as one of gaming’s best redemption arcs.

The much-awaited console versions of the award-winning puzzle game <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/eternal-threads/">Eternal Threads</a> is coming soon.

Secret Mode and Cosmonaut Studios recently unveiled the launch dates for the console version of Eternal Threads. In a press release, the two studios announced they will roll out the 2022 game this May 23rd. It can be played on next-gen Xbox and PlayStation devices as well as on Nintendo Switch.

Eternal Threads first came out for PC in 2022. Upon its release, the game received wide praise. Whatoplay gave it a playscore of 8.2.

It also bagged several awards and recognition. This included the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/puzzle/">Best Puzzle Game</a> award at the TIGA Games Industry Awards. It also received an Honorable Mention for Excellence in Narrative at the Independent Games Festival.

Eternal Threads is a single-player, first-person adventure. The game features a non-linear narrative puzzle. It throws players into an alternate universe where time-traveling is possible. There, they become a rookie time traveler named Operator 43. Their mission, under Second Chance Project, is to fix a corrupted timeline.

In turn, players found themselves in North England in 2015 when a house fire claimed the lives of six people. As Operator 43, they must find a way to save them all under one condition. And that is they should not prevent the fire from happening.

Each of the six housemates can be saved in multiple ways. This leaves players with multiple choices that have lasting effects on their futures.

Some choices will have minor ripples. Meanwhile, others will completely rewrite the timeline. Or even introducing new events and possibly replacing them entirely.

A console edition of Eternal Threads was initially planned shortly after its debut on PC. The reasons for the delay remain unknown.

Devolver Digital announced the latest game from developer Nerial (<a href="https://whatoplay.com/ios/reigns/">Reigns</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/card-shark/">Card Shark</a>). The Crush House is a dating sim with a 90s twist. It takes place in a hit TV show where players shape the drama as a producer. 

In <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/the-crush-house/">The Crush House</a>, players step into the shoes of a new hire. Begin Jae’s journey in this Luxurious Malibu mansion filled with twelve thirsty personalities. 

Players avoid the show’s cancellation by putting tension on screen. They must balance drama and romance to keep viewers glued to their seats. 

The developers dubbed this game as a ‘thirst-person shooter.’ Meaning it does not always put the players behind the scenes. Getting close to the action takes Jae into the everyday lives of the cast. There is beauty in timing the shots between a sumptuous drama. 

The Crush House comprises multiple TV seasons. It also comes with their own commercial breaks. Each season is unique based on the player’s chosen cast. Audience impact can skew the results as well. This leaves players with a constant conundrum on what to focus first.

There is a lingering mystery behind the game’s seemingly vibrant nature. The longer the player keeps the show on air, the more questions arise. Keen-eyed players will uncover a conspiracy within the Network. It opens up new challenges faced in Jae’s budding career.

<a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/fishbowl/">Fishbowl</a>, an upcoming coming-of-age game, just opened its playable demo. Beginning May 9, players can experience the world of Alo, its protagonist. The demo version can be accessed on <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/1638070/Fishbowl/">Steam</a>, for PC and macOS, and PlayStation 5.

The demo for Fishbowl offers players a glimpse into the first day of Alo's month-long exploration of grief. As well as self-discovery and the complexities of young adulthood.

Fishbowl is developed by Rhea Gupte and Prateek Saxena. Both Gupte and Saxena formed <a href="http://imissmyfriends.studio">imissmyfriends.studio</a> for the creation of the game.

"This demo is a small window into the themes and storylines we explore in the full game. We hope it gives players a peek into Alo's life and leaves them wanting more," said Gupte.

Fishbowl is a narrative-driven, slice-of-life game. It revolves around the life of 21-year-old Alo, who moved to a new city for her first job. However, Alo finds herself grappling with grief instead after losing her grandmother.

The choices she makes each day shape her unique path of self-discovery. From video calls with loved ones to video editing work, presented as an arcade-style matching game.

Players will also help Alo sort through her grandmother's belongings. They will guide her in piecing together cherished memories by unpacking puzzles. Throughout the experience, self-care becomes an important part of Alo's journey. This will also encourage players to prioritize well-being alongside exploration and decision-making.

"We've poured our hearts into every detail of Fishbowl, from the pixel art to the music and narrative," Gupte said.

In the meantime, players can learn more about Fishbowl with the newest trailer creators published. It showcases snippets of the diverse cast of characters Alo will encounter.

The video also included footage of rediscovering her childhood memories as well as the emotional journey that awaits players in the full game.

This marks the first time the whimsical story of young Jerry and his journey to Mousewood will be playable in a portable format.

Originally released on PC in 2013, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/the-night-of-the-rabbit/">The Night of the Rabbit</a> is a story-driven adventure that takes players to the mystical world of Mousewood. The game explores multiple themes such as the multiverse concept and coming-of-age. In it, players step into the shoes of 12-year-old Jerry who dreams of becoming a magician.

One day, he receives a magical letter and a traveling case. It contains a wand, hat, and an eccentric talking rabbit named Marquis de Hoto. Marquis then whisks Jerry away to the realm of Mousewood, where animals can talk.

As Jerry explores Mousewood, he uncovers a sinister force lurking beneath the surface. The residents are presented with an enticing offer – tickets to a grand magic show – but at a terrible cost. This journey pushes Jerry to confront challenges and make choices about his childhood.
