<p>The sequel to the 2020 game just released on <strong>May 16th</strong>, creators from Maximum Entertainment and Still Running announced.</p>

<p>Titled <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/morbid-the-lords-of-ire/">Morbid: The Lords of Ire</a>, it can be played on PC and consoles. These include PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.</p>

<p>Morbid: The Lords of Ire, like its predecessor, throws players in a hellscape, roaming with grotesque creatures. At the same time, it introduces new features, including upgraded visuals and hack-and-slash elements.</p>

<p>For The Lords of Ire, developers from Still Running decided to depart from the 2D, isometric art style found in The Seven Acolytes. Instead, the new game will have 3D graphics and perspectives.</p>

<p>"Morbid: The Lords of Ire is a continuation and reinvention of the critically acclaimed isometric souls-like ARPG Morbid: The Seven Acolytes from an all-new 3D perspective," said Maximum.</p>

<p>In the game, players reprise the role of the heroic Striver. For The Lords of Ire, developers added new skills and abilities for Striver. This included doing brutal finishers and wielding devastating guard breaks. She also has the ability to unleash the powerful Spectre Blaster to obliterate stronger foes.</p>

<p>On top of these, developers promised to roll out new worlds for players to explore in The Lords of Ire. The game will have five distinct and horrifying environments, they said. And each of them is teeming with monstrous denizens. From desolate wintry mountains to decaying urban landscapes.</p>

<p>On the other hand, the creators also retained several features from The Seven Acolytes for the sequel. Players can expect the return of the game's signature sanity system in The Lords of Ire.</p>

<p>"Maintain your sanity to gain incredible resilience, unleash devastating critical blows, and earn more experience," developers said. "However, succumb to the allure of madness and unlock a torrent of raw power that lets you deal and take more damage in a frenzy of violence," they added.</p>

<p>Morbid: The Lords of Ire currently carries a price tag of $16.99. For a limited time, publishers offer a limited price discount of up to 20 percent.</p>

<p>Developed by Lakeview Games and published by Mindscape, Pool Party is a hilarious and chaotic local <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/multiplayer/">multiplayer</a> arcade experience for up to four players. They can compete in a variety of physics-based sports and brawl game modes. </p>

<p>Players can jump into going solo or with friends across a range of competitive game modes. These include Pool, Idol, Sumo, Free-for-All, and more. </p>

<p>The game’s agile pool balls can reach ridiculous speeds, adding dynamic gameplay as they roll and bounce around the arena. Competitive players can send a rival ball flying by perfectly aiming their kicks. These moments make for some seriously hysterical moments with friends.</p> 

<p>Currently, the game has 6 reviews on Steam. While some enjoyed the game’s casual party game approach, other players are disappointed about its lack of an online mode.</p>

Party Game ‘Pool Party’ Launched on Switch, PlayStation & PC

<p>Video game giant SEGA has revealed more details about <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/super-monkey-ball-banana-rumble/">Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble</a> ahead of its release next month.</p>

<p>SEGA on <stribg>May 16th</stribg> just dropped a <a href="https://youtu.be/3zU9d-_s9gU">new gameplay trailer</a> for the family-oriented, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/platformer/">platformer</a>. And it gave players a first-ever look into the adorable and hilarious cast of the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/upcoming/">upcoming Switch game</a>.</p>

<p>Leading the pack is the ever-easygoing AiAi, followed by the optimistic and helpful MeeMee. Also coming to Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble are Baby, YanYan, Doctor, and GonGon, AiAi's former rival turned best friend.</p>

<p>But there's more. SEGA revealed that new playable characters will join the latest Super Monkey title. In the trailer, they introduced Palette, the lightning-fast adventurer. Adventure Mode throws in a new cast of characters as well. Players will encounter the Gala family – Fes, Tee, and Val. A trio of treasure hunters, their sights set on the same prize: the Legendary Banana.</p>

<p>Like previous installments, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble's core gameplay involved controlling and guiding monkeys encased in capsules. But for the newest title in the series, developers from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio decided to add a new move.</p>

<p>Called the Spin Dash, this will allow players to grant their monkey a quick burst of speed. It can be useful for navigating tricky sections or overtaking opponents, according to SEGA.</p>

<p>On top of its diverse characters, creators of Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble also confirmed that the game will have more room and options for customization. Players can unlock a staggering collection of 300 customization items. These ranged from accessories, clothing and even unique ape balls.</p>

<p>"Many of these snazzy items can be purchased using points earned through gameplay, both locally and online," said SEGA.</p>

<p>The game will also have an Online Battle mode that will offer a daily spin at the Lucky Monkey lottery. This virtual vending machine dispenses capsules containing exclusive items, with more additions promised over time.</p>

<p>Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble will support at least two modes - <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/multiplayer/">multiplayer</a> and online. SEGA decided to return the local co-op (Multiplayer) features, in which a team of four players can form a team, in the newest Super Monkey. Meanwhile, for more mayhem, players can also try its Online mode where up to 16 players can participate.</p>

<p>Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble is set to be released on Nintendo Switch this June 25.</p>

The original received a playscore of 7.7 on PC. Critics lauded the game’s inventive <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/point-and-click/">point-and-click</a> design.</p> 

<p>To celebrate the launch, the game is available at <strong>a special 10% discount</strong> until May 22.</p>

<p>Whacking Hell plays similarly to the multiawarded Vampire Survivors--one of the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-series-x/best/2022/">best Xbox Series X games in 2022</a>. Sanuk Games' bullet-hell shooter has a top down 2D camera and only by powering up their character can players rain  bullets on their enemies.</p> 

<p>There are 5 main characters to unlock. Each possesses their own unique loadouts to survive Hell’s army. In addition to that, a selection of 5 weapons adds a dynamic flow to its multi-chapter campaign.</p>

<p>Its 3 chapter structure contains dozens of waves of enemies. With a soundtrack from award-winning  Henri-Pierre Pellegrin, it ends with a blaring crescendo of powerful bosses to defeat. </p>

<p>Like its roguelite bullet-hell inspirations, Whacking Hell provides permanent upgrades. These power-ups increase the player's chance of survival in-between sessions.</p> 

<p>The game’s one-year development cycle polished the game according to player feedback. According to Sanuk Games, “It [also] involved pitching multiple publishers, but the present state of the industry is such that the game ends up being released by Sanuk Games itself, for better or worse – hopefully better!”</p>

<p>While the game is coming to consoles this year, Whacking Hell only has a confirmed release date on PC. It's set to release soon on PC via Steam on June 14, 2024.</p>

Sanuk Games announced its new bullet heaven game ‘Whacking Hell!’ coming to multi-platforms. 

Vampire Survivors-like Roguelite 'Whacking Hell!' coming to consoles and PC.

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/bleak-faith-forsaken/">Bleak Faith: Forsaken</a> is getting another major update a year after its debut. And this time, it's intended for console players.</p>

<p>Archangel Studios revealed that a console port of the souls-like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/rpg/">RPG</a> is underway. The indie devteam made this announcement in a 55-second trailer they dropped on May 15th, 2024. The port expansion will include PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Release dates for the console versions of Bleak Faith: Forsaken have yet to be revealed.</p>

<p>Bleak Faith: Forsaken first debuted on PC in March 2023. Aside from RPG elements, the game also features open-world and survival horror designs. Prior to its release, the three-man team of Archangel promised to introduce a game that combines 'brutal combat, exploration, and oppressive atmosphere.'</p>

<p>On whatoplay, the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/2023/">2023 PC title</a> currently has a playscore of 7.2.</p>

<p>In the game, players find themselves in the ruins of a fallen civilization called the Omnistructure. They must guide their cyborg hero to survive in a world full of monstrous beings twisted by a mysterious force.</p>

<p>Upon its release, many gamers and critics agreed that Bleak Faith: Forsaken has the potential to become a big, indie contender in the souls-like genre. However, they pointed out that the game still needed further development.</p>

<p>Bleak Faith: Forsaken received praise for its visuals, designs, and atmospheric experience. However, it fell short in terms of the quality of its gameplay. Some critics even criticized it as nothing but a 'window dressing' with broken souls-like mechanics.</p>

<p>Since then, its developers have rolled out numerous updates. These ranged from fixing bugs to improving the game's overall features. They also launched new contents and even a new mode - a co-op multiplayer.</p>

<p>Presumably, the console versions will launch with all the balance changes, bug fixes, and additional content released on PC. This means console players may have access to a richer, more refined experience from day one.</p>

<p>Ubisoft has just revealed the next installment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/assassins-creed-shadows/">Assassin’s Creed Shadows</a> is set during Japan’s turbulent Sengoku period. The story revolves around two characters: Naoe, a skilled shinobi, and Yasuke, the celebrated African samurai.</p>

<p>Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to launch on PC, Mac (Apple Silicon), PS5, and Series X|S on November 15, 2024.</p>
