If this was in a Humble Bundle or on sale, I would think you would be happy with your purchase. At full price, I would probably feel as though I could have spent my money on something better. With that said, the game feels like a labour of love, not some lazy cash grab. Just don’t expect particularly deep gameplay.

Yes, Your Grace is a deeply moving and thought-provoking kingdom-management simulator with a brilliant storyline. Though some of the core plot points of the story feel somewhat linear, it is nonetheless still an emotional, intriguing, and enjoyable journey. The kingdom-management system feels meaningful while you're playing, but once you reach the end it starts to feel like some of your resource management didn't hold quite as much weight as you once thought.

I don’t have the level of control over events that I’d like (or, to be honest, that I feel I’ve been promised). Still, the story is strong and memorable, and throughout I am made to feel a part of the kingdom of Davern—which ensures I try to be a good king, rather than being somebody disinterestedly clicking dialogue options in a game. It is this firing up of emotions that is the game’s crowning achievement.
