Turok Remastered is exactly what I expected it to be, and I enjoyed the nostalgia trip. I hope they continue with the series, as Seeds of Evil is still my favorite in the franchise. Turok was a series that definitely had its chance, but I don’t think ever got the proper game it deserved. I love revisiting these old N64 titles in a new light, and who knows, perhaps in a few years the dinosaur hunter can once again become relevant in gaming.

AI is weak at best, summed up for almost all enemies as “charge and attack,” and that includes ones with ranged weaponry. Turok is a fun and playable revival, but there’s no ignoring that it’s a product of its time. On the other hand, that time made some fantastic games, and while Turok was only ever mid-tier at best, the improvements in framerate, controls and graphic effects have improved it immensely.

My only criticism is maybe the price – at $19.99 US, it is a bit expensive for the length of the campaign, which is probably 10 or so hours for most people. This game really should be priced at $5.00 – $10.00 at the most. But even at the current price, I recommend Turok Remastered; fun, fast-paced and full of ass-kickin’ action, this is a straight-up Jurassic classic that everyone should experience. Happy hunting…
