Summary
Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight, and Zoya the Thief have slowly come to the conclusion that having their lives commandeered by a powerful magical artifact is not a desirable state of existence on a permanent basis. The heroes try to return their extraordinary gifts to the Artifact called Trine, and so they meddle with powers beyond their understanding. Trine shatters. With a literally heartless ancient sorcerer on the loose, and only a broken artifact to guide them, the heroes must try and repair the damage they've caused... or the damage that might yet be done.

Trine 3 is an absolutely charming and wonderful game. If you have two other friends and want to play this together, it’s absolutely a must. Even with its shorter game time, the amount of fun and charm you’ll have with friends can’t be beat. If players love fun platforming, visually jaw dropping fantasy worlds, and puzzles, this would also be a solid recommendation to solo adventures.
It’s unfortunate that the fate of Trine is in question, for everything that it got right, and for what it could have been if Frozenbyte’s vision were in line with its budget. But, Trine 3: the Artifacts of Power, in its current state, is an unfinished game. Priced at $23.99 with little chance of completion, and no confirmation from the developer on whether the story will ever be finished, the result is a tough sell. And one that I can’t recommend buying into.
The biggest problems are the brevity, lack of story, and overwhelming sensation it leaves that Frozenbyte released this unfinished and hopes to create DLC to finish it. That may or may not prove the case, but it remains difficult to like Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power when looking at the whole thing.
