As a whole, Total War: Warhammer is a release that does exactly what it sets out to do: create a fantasy Total War title. While the fantasy geek in me would be far more inclined to a Warcraft or Lord of the Rings variation, the Warhammer brand is still quite fun to play around in. Overall, it’s a well-thought-out iteration of the Total War franchise, and it’s an obvious choice for those who enjoy either the Total War or Warhammer brands.
If you’ve ever had an imaginative thought about the Old World, Total War: Warhammer will fill in the blanks. There are some frustrations that inevitably come from a challenging campaign, but I don’t know what else I could ask of a Warhammer game, except for more of the same.
Total War: Warhammer is the most interesting, most polished, and most enjoyable Total War game to date. Depending on which camp you come from you may have a slight learning curve, but its definitely worth it as this game has plenty to sink your teeth into if you're a fan of strategy, high-fantasy, or both.
