Summary
The year is 270 AD. A string of inept emperors and usurpers vying for power has led the Roman Empire into near-total economic collapse. This is its gravest crisis yet. Eager to capitalise on Rome’s instability, barbarian tribes gather like a storm on the borders, to plunder the riches of civilisation. To the east, the Sassanids set out on a grand conquest that culminates with an assault against Roman lands. They are held back only by a staunch defence led by Palmyra. Queen Zenobia holds fast – but for how long?

Empire Divided is a fun change of pace from the standard Rome II fare. It has decent replay value and a ton of flavor for history buffs or just people interested in history that encourages the player to do some research to understand this interesting historical period. I learned a good deal about this period from both the game and the supplemental research it inspired me to engage in.
Empire Divided et la refonte du système politique qui l'accompagne apportent un réel vent de fraicheur sur Total War Rome 2 qui devient encore un peu plus riche et profond qu'il ne l'était déjà. Le contexte historique choisi est déjà plutôt intéressant et donne lieu à quelques nouveautés bien sympathiques, mais c'est surtout le remaniement de la politique qui séduit.
Total War Rome II Empire Divided est bon DLC qui vient apporter un peu de nouveauté à un jeu qui commence à être décrépi par le temps. Se focalisant sur l'une des périodes les plus intéressantes de l'Empire Romain (le règne d'Aurélien), il a suffisamment de nouveautés pour repartir sur plusieurs dizaines d'heures de plaisir.
