The Uncertain: Light At The End is a heap of derivative themes and ideas missing the narrative and mechanical buttresses needed to hold it together. Flat, archetypal characters and rigid pacing drag down an already uninspired story. Basic, poorly explored game mechanics do little to make you a part of the narrative.

It may be a little rough around the edges, but it’s graphically competent, and its excellently-designed world leaves you wishing there was more. The story pacing may be all over the place, and the abrupt ending comes too soon, but it’s enjoyable enough while it lasts.
