An atmospheric first person adventure puzzler that doesn’t commit to being scary. It has a few technical issues and some awkward transitions, but overall it’s a decent package for the bargain bin price.

Overall, The Crow’s Eye is a strong experience that even those not as interested in the genre can access and enjoy. For regular fans of the horror genre, the “horror” in The Crow’s Eye may not be the usual scare you might enjoy. Of course, the narrative, music, and atmosphere of the title are The Crow’s Eye‘s strongest features, combining to form an enjoyable and creepy adventure.

It’s full of great ideas, and more than does enough to separate itself out from the crowd. The game’s clunkier moments may put off some users, but those willing to persevere and put atmosphere and plot above pure gameplay could find themselves with an enjoyable game – albeit one that could cause a few sleepless nights.

No, The Crow’s Eye didn’t turn out how I expected, and in that way I’m disappointed. As a huge fan of horror games, I was let down by The Crow’s Eye failing to live up to the horror that the teasers seemed to promise. But, I can appreciate a good puzzle game and that’s exactly what this is, and having a decent narrative is icing on the cake.

It’s the narrative you discover through exploration that holds The Crow’s Eye together; reading and listening to people slowly lose their minds – as perhaps your character does too – makes the psychological thriller element of the game take centre stage. It’s just a shame that the horror never quite gets there.

Furthermore, an intriguing story that's gradually revealed through well-voiced audio tapes and well-written letters helps build up expectations even more. It certainly lives up to its claim as a psychological horror, but one that will only put you on edge the first time through.

I can’t consider it being an actual horror title, especially as a psychological terror that the developers, 3D2 Entertainment describes, but as an atmospheric first-person adventure, it has a lot going for it. It can be easily recommended for fans of puzzle-adventure titles shrouded in mystery.

The Crow's Eye es una nueva versión de la típica aventura de puzles y misterio en una "casa encantada" que podemos encontrar en PC. Sin grandes novedades, al menos aporta un poco más que una serie de pruebas sobre tableros e interruptores; potencia la exploración y su nivel asequible evitará prolongados bloqueos. Para el público adicto a investigar un lugar poco acogedor, el debut de 3D2 Entertainment no defraudará.
