Reminds me a bit of Mass Effect series but a lot less interesting. The story is pretty straightforward which is to take out the aliens and not much else. Enemies are a bit challenging and other than guns and the various abilities you can use to deal with enemies there's not much else to talk about.

As is, The Bureau makes for a decent enough 10 hours of alien-obliterating combat, but all the way through you'll find yourself lamenting the many aspects that feel like they could have, and should have, been better.

The underutilized XCOM base is an appropriate metaphor for The Bureau itself. Limitless possibilities for intrigue, tactics, mystery and terror appear to be on offer. But The Bureau keeps most of it to itself, leaving only scraps and the grunt work of killing aliens. That may be an amusing way to kill 10 hours or so, but it’s a long way from a memorable one.
