Likewise, if you're a lapsed World of Warcraft player and your craving something similar enough to migrate your skills to, The Old Republic will certainly please. Even if you're just curious about MMOs and you'd like to get your feet wet, The Old Republic is a great place to get in on the ground floor, because it's ambitious enough to build up a large player base and the license and developer will keep those players around for quite some time.

Again, these are impressions I got in my very early hours with the game. I plan to write an update down the line, both to revise my thoughts and to explain any significant updates that BioWare makes. But my early experience makes something very clear to me: If the idea of a Star Wars MMO appeals to you, The Old Republic will be worth the cost of admission.

The dialogue and story is why you should want to play The Old Republic, and it’s presented excellently. The UI needs much more flexibility though. Voice acting is superb throughout, the orchestral sound-track slips in and out effortlessly, and everything from blasters to alien-babble is pure Star Wars. PvP is brilliant, and the branching story is wonderfully complex. Classes are well-designed. A little quest variety wouldn’t go astray, though.
