A really funny fighter game. The best part of it is the custom characters costumization that you can do. You can create your own character, dress it like you want, choose the fighting style and you can make either a gorgeous character or an aberration and both of them will be fun to play ! The singleplayer is a bit meh to say the least but you can have some happy hours if you play with friends and maybe compete for the best looking custom character !

This is where you see the strangest player-made custom characters. All characters have to adhere to one of the main roster characters’ movesets, but it’s still amusing to see a man with a giant horse head wielding Geralt’s steel and silver swords. It sums up Soulcalibur’s appeal perfectly. It can be dumb and, in singleplayer, a little dull, but the fights are always fun and sidestepping Mitsurugi never gets old.

There are some smaller downsides in this game but they don’t tarnish the flare and attraction of SoulCalibur 6. It’s rare to find the game that will be fun to play no matter the skill level, and Soul Calibur 6 is the prime example of that. So get ready to come back to the stage of history and cross the swords with beloved characters once more.

SoulCalibur VI is a fighting game that's easy to recommend. Like all the best titles in the genre, it has a low barrier to entry and high skill ceiling. For those looking to get in a few games with friends it's welcoming and immediately enjoyable. For those committed to ploughing the depths of its systems to get tournament ready, it has plenty to unpack and understand.
