Nice little game. Raelly great graphics, a little repetative but still quite ok fighting mechanics and a decent story.

The game was short (10 hours or so), but that was a nice change after couple of 130+ hour games. Get this one on sale.

The gameplay felt fun but a little bit repititive. Overall it's a very good game. The graphics and animations are top-notch.

I could never call it good, or imaginative, or varied. I can see through its obvious attempts to appeal to my most primitive impulses. But I can also say that Ryse succeeds in tickling your brain stem even when you know your time is better spent. I don't believe, however, that it deserves congratulations for having done it.

Ryse is a decent game, given its length, but it's one that is certainly more fun to look at than it is to play. If you're looking for a game that will push your gaming hardware to the limit, then Ryse certainly fits, especially if you're itching to game on 4K hardware. Otherwise, there are better ways to pass the time.

It may contain higher resolutions and a more flexible frame rate, but otherwise it’s substantially the same game. ...The multiplayer actually shows off the mechanics better than the main campaign, but it would have benefited having more than one additional gladiator companion. Ryse: Son of Rome has the visual fidelity of the future, while its gameplay and storytelling are stuck in the past.
