Summary

Two castles stand opposed, bridged by an uneven, narrow pathway. One is yours, and you're quite fond of it. See how the parapets catch the sunlight ever so stylishly? The other is your enemy's; they're a jerk, and their crappy crenellations are driving down your property values. Also, their castle sucks, justification enough to try crush it using an enormous rolling stone. Unfortunately, they'll have a chance to plan and build up some security, doing everything they can to derail your razing rock.

Rock of Ages provides a few hours of great fun, and the unique flavour and hilarious cutscenes are worth the budget pricetag. Don’t expect it to hold up to repeated playthroughs, but this is a game about smashing up artwork with a big rock, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Rock of Ages remains fun despite its problems, and makes for some great local competitive play. The campaign gets annoying at times because of the time constraints with defense building, but is quirky and funny enough that it ultimately remains worth the time. If you're looking for something unlike what you've played before, it's time to let Rock of Ages rock your world.

Rock of Ages is one of those games that is difficult to encapsulate in a written form. With its genre-fusing game play and cheeky yet surreal take on ancient history it really is one of a kind. While content might be a little thin outside of the main mode and story campaign, the game is still more than worth the 800 Microsoft Point asking price.
