Deceptively technical and tricky to master, Monster Energy Supercross 3 is a modest but solid two-wheeled racer with good atmosphere and a great sense of speed. However, the fact the previous two are largely just as good makes it harder to get the heart rate up again, whether exceeding the maximum safe daily dose of Monster or not.
I am probably higher on Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 3 than I would be on most games, but I feel like the enjoyment I have playing helps to push concerns to the side. I am looking forward to messing around in multiplayer, particularly with the test track compound free-roam. This title will lack the casual arcade appeal of bike classics like Motocross Madness and some prospective customers will most likely be suffering from bike game overexposure, but I encourage newcomers and those curious about the sport to dive in.
All in all, it's clear that Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame 3 is a good racing game. It looks and feels great, most of the time, and if you're a massive fan of the sport, you should definitely check it out, especially if you missed the second game as the series has come a fair way since the first. That said, the difficulty curve and the punishing ways that you can fly off your bike dampened our fun a little, even if the physics were quite impressive as we crashed for the umpteenth time.
