Several obtuse, tedious, or otherwise frustrating objectives and some level flow issues keep me from giving this an unreserved recommendation, but like the movies on which it's based, Lego Marvel's Avengers is a wild ride that many will come to cherish and want to revisit again and again.

Collectively, then, there’s not enough for me to recommend this over Lego Marvel Super Heroes, which is usually $5/£4 in Steam sales and has the edge with level design and fan service. Being a fan of the Marvel movies isn’t enough to justify buying this as well—there's no passion in the translation from screen to game.

We do think that TT Games has bound themselves too tightly to the storyline of the films and they have filled the game with a bigger plotline than they should have. On the other hand, we also think that it's great that TT Games is trying out some new ideas, in this case bringing more life to the combat via team combos.
