Knights & Bikes was created by a small team featuring several people who worked on LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway, and you can feel that all these games share a similar creative vision. There's a kind of wide-eyed, rough and tumble spirit of adventure running through all three games that is hard to resist. Knights & Bikes is a wonderfully warm, effortlessly inviting experience that'll make you feel young again.
It's a perfect fit among the studio's own output, telling a well-written tale with a beautiful art style, that's slightly letdown by stretching straightforward combat too thin. It's worth it for the story alone, but unlike my childhood bike rides, the journey to the end isn't riveting the whole way through.
Knights and Bikes is an action-adventure that tells the tale of two kids in 80’s england. The search for a legendary treasure brings them together to craft heartwarming coming of age story. Although it’s best played in co-op mode, there’s a fair amount of fun to be had in playing alone too. Throw in the fact that Knights and Bikes features clearly defined mechanics along with some powerful instances and you’ve got yourself quite the charming indie experience.
