While it's easy to call a game, "too hard," Godstrike goes above and beyond to savage you. Unless you're willing to put in the time and pain, this will not be an enjoyable experience. However, if you can ride the crest of the difficulty curve, this bullet hell bonanza will keep you coming back for even more brutality.

While the short run-time of around two to three hours isn’t inherently the root of the problem, one can’t help but note Godstrike is in dire need of a better, fleshed out experience than the one provided. Even so, as unfinished and slap-dash this effort feels, Godstrike rarely comes off all that enticing to either control or jump straight back into upon death.

Despite having an intriguing mechanic at its core, I found Godstrike to be too punishingly difficult to be enjoyable, and I likely would have abandoned it much earlier on if I wasn't responsible for this review. Having your health bar tied to a time limit makes the already challenging action even more unbearable, and the Easy Mode does little to help matters. It does have a few positive aspects such as its well-designed bosses and its wealth of different modes, but I wouldn't give this a recommendation, unless you're intent on torturing yourself.
