Summary

Take a deep breath... Try to remember: a girl, a chair, a bomb. Just keep... calm. Follow the voice into the depths of you memory. Relax... and search for the darkest memories in the deepest recesses of your mind. Can you find her? The clock is ticking... And this is just a part of the treatment.

There is something to love about Get Even, and in fact it’s easy to see where it could have moved past just being good and launched into being great, which is a shame to see. The team clearly has talent and whether or not you feel like settling the score, Get Even shows a fantastic premise and realized concept that I would love to see expanded on in the future.

I won’t lie to you and tell you you’ve never seen a story like this before – you will likely predict several of the beats and twists, and Farm 51 wears their influences on their sleeve proudly, but I guarantee you’ve never seen this type of story told like this, because Get Even lets you experience it in a way that only video games can – as a participant.

I’m compelled to learn more about Black’s past as I play, but then I have to kill or sneak past some guys and everything grinds to a halt. A confusing tangle of a game, then, but the mystery-laden storyline might just be enough to pull you through some of the weaker action moments.
