It’s got humor, visual flair, excellent gameplay, and a brilliant soundtrack. Some technical problems hold this version back from being near-flawless, so it might be in your best interest to grab a “bro” and team up in local multiplayer, high-fiving each other until your hands bleed.

Double Dragon Neon is a game that disguises its hardcore gameplay within a constantly entertaining 80’s nostalgia-filled fever dream. It’s never serious and it never tries to modernize when it doesn’t need to, and that’s what makes Double Dragon Neon such an excellent example of a reborn classic.

You needn’t have played Double Dragon to find yourself slavering with violent lust over this superb new digital download, yet long time fans and die hard obsessives will feel equally championed. It’s a genuine testament to the developer that one game can cater to gamers who are a generation or more apart without any sensation of pandering or compromise.
